Our Story
At Pamozi we are creating a world where vision barriers do not limit anyone’s future.
Elitah Sandau founded Pamozi following a life-changing moment when her son was diagnosed with macular dystrophy, a rare genetic condition that progressively affects vision. She studied International Marketing, and now she is navigating way within the healthcare sector. She is faced with the overwhelming reality of working through her son’s condition while discovering the broader challenges millions of families face. What began as a mother’s determination evolved into a comprehensive organization dedicated to bridging the vision care gap across Africa.
Our Values
At the heart of everything we do are three core principles:
- Transparency in our operations and impact
- Integrity in our partnerships and commitments
- Deep commitment to social impact that creates lasting change
Empathy in Action: Born from personal experience, we understand the profound impact that vision challenges can have on families and communities.
Learning and Growth: We believe that dedication and the right support can overcome initial knowledge barriers.
Community Connection: We work together – with donors, partners, communities, and families – because sustainable change requires collective effort.
Sustainable Impact: Our goal is not just to provide immediate aid, but to build lasting systems that empower communities to address vision needs independently.
Together, we are building a future where vision barriers no longer limit human potential
